How long does it take to become certified?
The timeline is surprisingly quick. You’ll start with online pre-learning (done at your own pace), then attend a 1-day practical discussion. After that, you complete 5-10 case studies (usually on friends and family), followed by an assessment. Most students complete everything within 4-6 weeks while working full-time. Some fast-track it in 2-3 weeks if they have more time.
What's actually included in the course fee?
Your course fee covers the online training modules, your full practical day with maximum 5 students, assessment and certification, and a full year of free refresher training. Starter kits are separate but we help you choose the right one during your discussion. Course prices start from R3,500 for Classic Lashes.
Is the accreditation really recognised?
Yes. You’ll receive international accreditation from Lash Inc UK (or Lash & Brow Inc for certain courses), which is recognised worldwide. For permanent makeup courses, you also get PCASA recognition (Permanent Cosmetics Association of South Africa). Stella Academy appears on Lash Inc’s official list of accredited trainers.
Do I need any beauty experience?
No experience needed at all. We’ve trained complete beginners, career changers, stay-at-home moms, and recent school leavers. The online pre-learning assumes you know nothing and builds from there. That said, if you do have beauty experience, we have advanced courses to expand your skills.
What if I can't afford to pay upfront?
We offer multiple payment options including Payflex (3-4 interest-free instalments) and Mobicred. Many students use these to start training immediately while spreading the cost. You can literally start earning from clients before you’ve finished paying for the course.
Where are the training venues?
We have venues in Cape Town (head office), Johannesburg, Centurion, Durban, Bloemfontein, George, and even Mauritius. You can choose the location most convenient for you. All venues maintain the same standards and maximum 5 students per class.
What's in the starter kits?
Kits are carefully curated with professional-grade products. The Classic Lash Kit, for example, includes enough supplies for 40+ full lash sets. That’s potentially R16,000-32,000 in revenue from one kit. During your discussion, we help you choose between basic and master kits based on your goals.
How much can I realistically earn?
Classic lash appointments in South Africa charge R400-800. If you see just 2 clients per week charging R500 each, that’s R4,000 per month extra income. What happens after I graduate?
